Captain’s log January 16th 2012*
I started the new year with the very best of intentions. My plan was to start up a new knitting blog**, smack bang on January 1st and then begin blogging away to my heart’s content about all things knitting, gaming, sci-fi, gardening and other such geekiness. However, as you can see, the best of intentions have gone askew and it’s already January 16th.
I have, however, spent just over 90 hours playing Skyrim. Some people would call that progress.
I bought Bayonetta and Alice: The Madness Returns a couple of days ago, in the hope that they would wean me off Skyrim long enough for the novelty to wear off. They didn’t, they’re still lying next to my ps3 in their shiny wrapping, unopened, and so far, unloved. The novelty did wear off to some degree however, while I spent at least several pointless hours searching for my runaway husband, Vikas (or is it Farkas? – If only I could have married both twins it would have been easier). After our hurried nuptials he scarpered out of the church door and was last seen wandering the dark streets of Riften. I knew I should have married Aela, but she looked a little too ballsy for me.
Gaming: 90(ish) hours on Skyrim at level 43.
Random things I talked about at work today: the difficulties of knitting without taking your hands of the needles, quokkas.
House status: Hallway walls finally painted, the combined scents of paint and cat are battling for supremacy.
Reading: The fantastic, but brief Moths of the New World (again) until something comes along to fill the massive void in my life that Ready Player One left behind.
* I promise that’s the first and last time I’ll say that. But you know, it is the first post…
** For reasons that aren’t yet apparent to me.
